In this 2-part program Rob Hoogs will take you on a journey to learn about the Mohicans and the history of the lands around the Bidwell House Museum.
First on Saturday August 15 at 10 am, Rob will give a 1-hour lecture via Zoom. This lecture will give highlights about the local history of the Stockbridge Indians, as well as a brief overview of the Bidwell House Museum’s Native American Interpretive Trail Exhibits. A Q&A will follow at the end.
Then, on Sunday August 16 at 10 am Rob will follow up the lecture with a 1-hour guided walk of the Native American Interpretive trail on the Museum property. Stops will include exhibits on Projectile Points and Stone Tools, Medicinal Herbs, Agricultural Practices, A Wigwam Hunting Village, Land Management Practices, An Indian Path, and Maple Sugaring. The guided walk is limited to 10 persons. There is some uneven terrain on the hike so dress appropriately. Rain date to be determined if necessary.
You can attend just the lecture, just the walk or both. This program is free for Museum Members. Non-Members pay $5 for just the lecture or walk alone and $10 for both.
For those registering for the lecture, the Zoom details will be sent a couple of days in advance.
