Experience life on an Army Campaign in 1770’s New England

We’re pleased to announce the return of our second 1770s era living history weekend! On June 24, and 25, the Bidwell House will be hosting “The Army on Campaign,” a weekend long exploration of the lives of troops and followers during the American Revolutionary War period.

This exciting event will be hosted by His Majesty’s 52nd Regiment and Spencer’s Additional Continental Regiment, and will feature multiple lectures focused on health and wellness, laundry techniques of the day, military discipline, provisioning the army, and more. Three tactical demonstrations will be conducted throughout the weekend. Highlights on Saturday include a talk about soldiers from Berkshire County and there will be a theatrical performance entitled Tag, Rag, and Bobtail: Women Belonging to the Army. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the camps and speak to the participants about everyday life in the British and Continental armies.

Full details on the event can be found HERE along with a schedule of events.
