Redware On Display – A Tour with Lorraine German

In 2024 the Bidwell House Museum is highlighting their stunning redware collection with an exhibition and programs. Join redware expert Lorraine German on this private tour of the Bidwell House Museum’s beautiful collection of redware pottery. You will see some of the unique pieces on display and learn about various styles of redware pottery created throughout the 18th and 19th centuries in the northeast United States.

Lorraine German and her late husband Steve established Mad River Antiques, LLC in 2001, with a concentration on 18th, 19th, and 20th century Americana and decorative arts. She has been a guest speaker at antiques shows, museums, and antiques organizations, where she has covered a variety of topics, including stoneware, redware, quilts, Christmas ornaments, and Santa Claus. Lorraine is also the author of Soil and Shul in the Berkshires: The Untold Story of Sandisfield’s Jewish Farm Colony, published in 2018.

This tour is limited to 10 people and pre-registration is required. Walk-ins will not be permitted.
