George and Martha Washington Welcome You to the Museum’s 2023 Season! – CANCELLED

The Bidwell House Museum welcomes you to the 2023 season with a meet and greet with George and Martha Washington!

Have you ever wanted to reach out and touch history? Talk to historical figures? On May 20th you will have the opportunity to meet “General and Mrs. Washington”, who will be receiving visitors while enjoying the gardens at the Bidwell House Museum. They are looking forward to chatting with visitors and answering all of your questions!

As well as “George and Martha”, the 3rd MA Regiment will also be in attendance to drill and share their experiences as soldiers in the War for Independence. You can visit their camp as they conduct drills and other living history demonstrations including sewing, cooking, and military camp life during the American Revolution. You can also view a musket firing demonstration, talk war strategy with the General, or grandchildren with Mrs. Washington. This short visit on May 20th is a preview of the weekend long Living History Event coming up later in the season on June 23-25.

Stop by the Museum any time between 1 pm and 4 pm on May 20th. This will be a special afternoon at the Bidwell House Museum and not to be missed!

Light refreshments will be available in the Museum Carriage Barn. Please note – the house will not yet be open for tours during this event.

This event is free for members and $20 per person for non-members. Children 12 and under are free. Pre-registration is required on the Museum website.
