Whole-cloth bed quilt 83" x 92" made from 24 1/2" widths of
plain woven, glazed green worsted tammy. The thin batting is wool
and the backing is made from three
pieces of golden yellow wool. |
The
quilt is structurally sound but only in fair condition having many
scattered holes on the back, with one large patch and some color loss in
spots on the front. |
Hand quilted at 8 stitches to
the inch, the border motif is a stylized floral vine (reverse curved); two
similar vertical vines are inside the border, with a stylized floral spray
in the center and parallel lines in the background. The glazed wool
binding is somewhat uneven and applied front to back. |
